Every successful company has a handful of what are called Core Processes and they are sales, marketing, human resources, two or three operations processes, accounting, and customer service.
As for Mitotec, the sales and marketing processes are rolled into one seat that’s sat in by the sales manager. The sales and marketing team consists of Warren, Patty, Andy, Matt, Barb, and me. You already know me, and I’ve explained Mitotec’s core values, but now I think it’s time to introduce you to the sales team as I may be referring to these folks from time to time.
Warren
He’s my boss and he runs the sales, marketing, customer service, and supply chain operations with an iron fist. He cracks the whip, delegates responsibilities, and occasionally yells at us unmercifully when we mess up or aren’t doing our jobs…just kidding.
The reality is that Warren’s style of leadership is quite admirable. He’s laid back, always has a minute to discuss something, and does some motivational coaching when you need it. So far working for him has been awesome, however, the one gripe I do have is that he downright refuses to tell me what his favorite movie is.
Barb
“I might be boring, but I’m never bored,” says my cubical next-door neighbor. She likes cooking but certainly not baking. Her favorite movie is a toss-up between Dirty Dancing and Pretty Woman. From what I gather, she and Patty (more on her below) talk to customers, enter orders, and communicate order changes which makes sense because her and Patty’s official titles are Customer Service.
Barb has been at Mitotec for about a year and a half. Before coming to Mitotec, she was the production control administrator at a plastic injection molding manufacturer. She has two children, a boy and a girl, both of whom are all grown up.
She enjoys gardening and birdwatching. Her favorite birds are a chickadee and the eastern towhee. When she’s not at Mitotec, she can usually be found bingeing such shows as Shameless, Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Grey’s Anatomy, Sons of Anarchy, and Bridgerton on Netflix as well as doing DIY things around her house.
Patty
She’s great, she likes owls a lot and the movies Encanto and Moana. Her and Barb’s role are pretty much identical, they have different customers but they’re able to back each other up too. She thoroughly enjoys living in New Lisbon and working at Mitotec Precision. Prior to coming to Mitotec, she worked at a steel service center for 26 years.
On a personal note, Patty tied the knot on New Year’s Eve this past year and has two daughters, two stepdaughters, one granddaughter, and one grandson. She’s always down for a good game of cornhole, but has no aspirations of going pro, and she also enjoys traveling with her new husband. Speaking of her husband, he says, “no more houseplants or owls.”
Matt
“Talk to me Goose,” is a phrase (and his favorite quote) that is heard often coming from the cubical of our official production scheduler, Matt. His favorite movie is, you guessed it, Top Gun. He’s a father, a former member of the United States Air Force, and one hell of a good guy. He’s got a great sense of humor too so when I need someone to act in one of my funny videos, he’s my go to guy.
Before coming to Mitotec he worked as a purchaser at a steel plant. Matt’s binge material consists of Supernatural and the Mandalorian. He racked up a whole lot of student debt in pursuit of his degrees in liberal arts, aircraft armory, and business administration so if you see him around, shake his hand.
Andy
Honestly, I’ve gotten to know Andy the least because he works remote most of the time, but he’s always willing to lend a hand. His official title is Outside Sales so that explains why I only see him about once a week. After doing my due diligence, I can safely say his favorite movies are Caddyshack and Top Gun.
He enjoys being outdoors, hiking, biking, golfing, bow hunting, fishing, and gardening. He’s the senior member of the sales team as he’s been at Mitotec Precision for 17 years.
That’s the team and with that I bid you adieu. This is Joe Greenberg from Mitotec Precision signing off. People Powering Precision.
