Greetings and salutations, I’m Joe Greenberg, the new digital marketing specialist at Mitotec Precision. If you’re reading this then that means I did something right! that we’re going to be doing moving forward. The goal being to explore the many different facets of the machining industry, different roles, machines, products, or People Powering Precision if you will. I for one, am stoked to be doing this because I get to learn right along with you!
So, now that you’re here what should we talk about? Well, for starters, Mitotec Precision is a manufacturing facility located in Necedah, Wisconsin where we machine precision parts. We provide solutions to complex machining needs for industries ranging from Agricultural to Medical and from Military/Defense & Firearms to Robotics as well as many other different industries, but the bottom line is, we make parts that matter.
You already know I’m the digital marketing specialist, but what you may not know is that my role is a brand-new position at Mitotec Precision, so the role is broadly defined and we’re trying to figure out how to best utilize my abilities. My work background consists of many warehouse and manufacturing positions. I’ve done it from shipping to receiving to production to picking to packing to inventory control to material handling and assembly.
In addition to my work background, I also have degrees in videography and marketing. I chose those two pursuits because I thought they would work well together. Videography because I have a creative mind, love to create, and fancy telling new stories. And marketing because I’m fascinated with everything that goes into getting your message out to the world through advertising, social media, mobile, and web development.
Outside of my educational background and work history I also enjoy spending time with my wife Kathy, watching movies (I’m a huge movie buff), watching pro wrestling (which rivals my love for movies), playing the occasional video or board game, blogging, and Jim Carrey, I’m a huge Jim Carrey fan.
So, what brings me to Mitotec Precision? I won’t get into specifics, but I was done/exhausted with working at jobs where I wasn’t able to exercise my creativity and/or ever reach my potential. I said to my wife, “the next job that I get is going to be either in marketing or videography,” and I meant it.
The job description matched practically everything I wanted in a job career. It involves learning and becoming an expert on many different products, videography/photography, social media, helping to develop a brand, and a lot of other cool stuff. I also felt like I would be beneficial to the team because of my manufacturing/warehouse/factory background. I know what it’s like to be out on a lot of different production floors. It’s good to have someone who understands both sides of a company.
I applied, had three interviews, one of which was with the entirety of the sales and human resources teams! You ever had an interview with seven people!? I certainly haven’t and it was quite a traumatizing experience…just kidding, it wasn’t that bad. I must’ve done alright too because here I am. They decided to take a chance on this young man and for that I am so very grateful.
I’ve been at Mitotec for about a month and I’ve enjoyed nearly every moment since I started. I encountered a small hurdle in the form of post-it’s that was settled quickly but I could’ve done without it…looking at you Susan.
That’s all I’ve got for now, until next time Like us on Facebook, subscribe on YouTube, and follow us on LinkedIn. This has been Joe Greenberg from Mitotec Precision signing off. People Powering Precision.
